This is what it looks like to be down in the canyon when it is snowing up on the rim.

Arizona: near San Francisco Peaks

This was taken at the start of a hike that would take us around the San Francisco Peaks.  The goal was to map out a trail that would then be used by the Boy Scouts.  Our route was about half way up the mountain, as I recall.  Hikers were Harry, Todd, Rebecca and our dog Shawneen, shown here with a backpack which she "lost" soon after this picture was taken.  It held all her food.....

Arizona: view from San Francisco Peaks

I read recently that it is now illegal to climb to the top of the San Francisco Peaks.  Good thing I was able to do that many years ago.

Nepal: Kathmandu zoo

The zoo in Kathmandu was a delightful zoo - meant for the enjoyment of the local families.  One of the highlights for us was riding the elephant.  As the elephant is considered a sacred animal, our stroll around the zoo included many stops for people to touch the elephant in gestures of sacred blessings.

This is the piano we rented and this is how they delivered it!  Very efficient and not a scratch on it.

Nepal trek

This was taken high above Kathmandu on the summit of one of the "hills".  We had porters to carry most of our gear and and were wearing good walking shoes but were exhausted at this point.  Along came this lovely group of ladies wearing flip flops and plastic sandals and not out of breath at all!  Note that even our porter was resting.
