Slip and Slide...with a snow saucer

Slip and Slide

Callie riding down on my gardening knee pad.  Cayden getting ready to ride the snow saucer.  I will say they were creative in their choices!

Nepal: Kathmandu zoo

The zoo in Kathmandu was a delightful zoo - meant for the enjoyment of the local families.  One of the highlights for us was riding the elephant.  As the elephant is considered a sacred animal, our stroll around the zoo included many stops for people to touch the elephant in gestures of sacred blessings.

Nepal trek

This was taken high above Kathmandu on the summit of one of the "hills".  We had porters to carry most of our gear and and were wearing good walking shoes but were exhausted at this point.  Along came this lovely group of ladies wearing flip flops and plastic sandals and not out of breath at all!  Note that even our porter was resting.

Penny and Kristen

Penny in Kathmandu, Nepal

there is always hope

I've included this blurry picture because it is the only picture of Penny as a 1.5 pound preemie.  One doesn't really think of photo ops with a baby this sick.  Now she is a grown-up wife and mother of 4 beautiful children.
